Totnes Jazz Workshop

FURTHER INFORMATION ……..regarding Corona virus :  With regret, it’s been decided that in the light of the current Coronavirus crisis, that we cannot get together a critical mass of players to have an enjoyable workshop session. So for the short term, the sessions are now cancelled. Watch this space for further news. In addition, an email will be issued when we intend to resume. Keep practising! And stay safe!

We welcome everyone regardless of age or musical ability to become involved in playing and enjoying jazz.

A reasonable grasp of music and understanding of your instrument is an advantage, but don’t worry, we welcome musicians of any standard to come along and have a go!  The workshops cover a wide range of music, including Blues, Jazz Standards, Swing, Funk, African and Reggae.

Our philosophy is for people to enjoy playing music in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, whilst improving their skills and confidence.   Music is provided.  Anybody wishing to practise improvisation is encouraged to do so and has plenty of opportunity.

We meet every Tuesday evening at St John’s Church in Bridgetown, Totnes, ready to start playing at 7.30 pm.

There’s a small charge of £3 per session to cover cost of the hall and music.

Please come along!
